Plate fin heat exchanger unit is mainly composed of seals, spacers, fins as shown in Figure 1, where the fins are divided into flat fins, serrated fins, corrugated fins, porous fins, a variety of fins with different resistance, different applications, according to the heat transfer requirements, choose the right fins, you can achieve the minimum area. The seal is mainly present around the heat exchange unit, separating the medium from the outside world. The role of the spacer is to separate the fluid and composite brazing, the material is mainly metal composite plate, is covered with a layer of brazing alloy on the surface of the parent metal, melted during brazing, so that the fins, spacer, and metal plate welded into one.
Advantages of plate fin heat exchanger:
1: Inter-wall heat exchange, heat exchange medium does not touch.
2: Compact heat exchanger with small footprint.
3: High efficiency heat exchanger with high heat transfer coefficient.
4: Light weight, the heat exchanger is made of aluminum alloy, the weight is about 1/10 of the tube type.
5: Small temperature difference heat exchange, the minimum can reach 1 degree temperature difference.
6: High pressure resistance: it can withstand up to 10MPa pressure.
Disadvantages of plate fin heat exchanger:
1: Easy to clog, fin pitch is small, so it is suitable with teach clean fluid, there should not be solid in the fluid.
2: Not corrosion-resistant, not applicable to corrosive media of aluminum alloy, affecting the service life.
